Automated Document Processor (Orders Management)

The orders management system in Cerner Homeworks provides Home Health agencies with the ability to generate Plan of Treatment and Physician Interim Order documents that are then sent to the physician for signature.  After the Orders Management portion of Homeworks generates these documents it is up to the staff to either mail them out or fax them to the physician.  This process takes up way too much time and requires atleast one full time employee.

Clinical Dashboard

Baptist Health Home Health does weekly case conferences with nursing teams in order to discuss patients on an individual level.  The organization needed a quick and easy way to look at the overall status of the patient.  They wanted an application that could interface with their existing electronic medical record and pull out key data and trend data (such as vital signs).  Baptist Health Home Health in essence wanted a 'dashboard' application that would enable them to get a snapshot of the patients being discussed during the case conferences.

Database Replication Service

Problem:
The Cerner BeyondNow EMR system allows clinicians to chart out in the field without a network connection by providing them with a "remote" database that is loaded on the laptop and synchronized daily with the consolidated database. Downloading / Replacing these databases on a laptop at remote sites took over 2-3 hours due to the distance and the connection speed (Both Remote sites were on T1's).  This downtime was unbearable.

System Health Report

Problem:
The information technology department needed an easy way to check for various database discrepancies and errors that occur. The IT department wanted everything reported back in one place (so that it could be aware of the issue before it gets bigger or it becomes too late to resolve the issue).

Single Entry & ISManager Project

Problem:

The Baptist Health Home Health network wanted the 200+ clinical laptops to be easy to use for everyone, regardless of an individuals previous computer experience level.  Baptist Health Home Health wanted a solution that provided the following:

HomeWorks Monitor

Problem:
The intake office staff at Baptist Health Home Health was having to convert the text case for all of their patients in intake manager (part of the Cerner HomeWorks suite).  The information would come in from the ADT interface in all Caps, but administration did not want the patient names to be displayed in all capital letters.  At the same time, the office staff was wasting too much time retyping all of the information (this defeated the point of the ADT interface).

Ticket System Modification (osTicket)

Problem:
The Baptist Health Home Health admin staff requested that the Information Technology department develop a ticket system. The administrative staff wanted to be able to track support issues, get automated notifications, and get reports on systems analyst performance.  They requested that the system be easy to use for the clinical staff (submitting tickets, receiving status updates, etc).

Print Helper (Digital Office Project)

Problem:
The Baptist Health Home Health administrative / office staff have been pushing to become as paperless as possible by 2010.  Digital Faxing (incoming & outgoing) had already been configured, but the following questions were posed:
